How to make one
Three steps, about a minute

Two kinds of event code
Static calendar code (free, no account): the event itself is inside the code. iPhones offer to add it straight from the Camera app; on Android it depends on the phone’s scanner.
Dynamic event page (1 dynamic code free with an account): a mobile page with the details, a map link, a ticket or RSVP link, and an “Add to calendar” button that works on every phone. Moved the date or the venue? Update the page, and the posters already up keep working.
Tips
- Put the date on the poster too. The code adds it to calendars; the poster still has to sell the event.
- Use the dynamic page for anything that might change, like times, venues and ticket links.
- Big posters need big codes: for a poster read from 2 meters away, make the code at least 20 cm wide.
